the name

it's two things.

one

corn + rad.

A vegetable with a good attitude. Corn is cheerful, a bit ridiculous and somehow everywhere. Rad is rad. Put together, it sounded like a toy shop.

two

a nickname.

"Cornrad" is also what our founder calls their son, Conner. It started at home, it stuck, and now it's the name on the box.

We pick toys the way a kid would (does it squish, click, spin, or look at you funny?) and check them the way a parent would (tested, labelled, fairly priced).

Cornrad is the cool older cousin who works at the toy shop. Low energy, good taste, secretly delighted by every squishy and would never admit it. He's in on the joke with you, never making one of you.
